Craft Till Ya Drop Extravaganza!

Hey ya'll! Molly here, Gypsy Queen of November.

Whitney has extended the invitation to the ladies of the Guild to participate and include our handmade wares in an upcoming boutique hosted at the assisted living community.

In an effort to help Whitney fill spaces, and possibly earn a couple pennies for you in the process, The Gypsy Guild is going extreme.

Craft Till Ya Drop Extravaganza!

The 411:
Friday, November 4th
7pm to 12am (yeah, that's midnight yo.)
Come and Go
Gypsy Cindy's House

The object of this meeting is to purge your craft piles of the projects you've been putting off and just do it. With the help of friends and good food, of course. Then you can include your finished goods in the November 12th boutique and make a buck. There is no organized craft. Instead bring the supplies you've had for three years stashed in the back of your kid's closet that you've been meaning to make.

BUT if you don't have any lingering projects, I issue a challenge based on this: http://www.younghouselove.com/2011/10/its-baaaack/

Choose one of your many "pins" (I know you've got 'em and if you don't you can choose one of mine because I've gone a little pin crazy...eh, hem...but I digress) and instead of storing it for safe keeping on your virtual board - do it! Maybe a recipe, diy craft or holiday gift.

OR if you don't have a craft in the pipeline then just come and enjoy the crafting camaraderie. You can come and help someone else work on their project or just hang with the girls.

Note: nothing you make needs to be sold at the boutique, unless you want it to be.

SPECIAL BONUS! We will have a question and answer session with resident couponing professionals! Q&A starts promptly at 7:30. Learn how to shop like a coupon rock star.

Spread the word to your people. All Gypsies are welcome.

Drinks and laughs will be provided, please bring a little sum'n-sum'n to share. I am bringing these: http://pinterest.com/pin/381486044/

We are the Double G,
Fun times for you and me!
Sometimes we eat some food,
It puts us in a happy mood.
And we'll do it again,
We love making new friends.
Gather all you Gypsy crafters,
Follow the sound of laughters.

(Yeah, I pretty much just wrote that in two seconds. Booyah!)

Sad news...

Fellow Gypsies,

I'm so sorry to announce that this week's meeting will have to be postponed again. Olen's aunt unexpectedly passed away earlier this week and a viewing for the family has been arranged the same night we planned to get together. So until further notice this week's headband project is cancelled.

I would like to propose that we meet once a month (instead of twice). I think this will accomplish two things (maybe more, but two is alls I got so far): 1) Create a more eager excitement for the once-a-month meeting  and 2) We're all busy women and the last thing we want is for our members to view our meetings as an inconvenience.

What do you all think of this? Leave your comment and speak your mind.

Meeting Three has moved again!

You're not too late to jump in all the fun!
Due to sick babies, birthdays and busy lives we postponed the project for this week to NEXT week.
The new date is: March 10th

Hope it works better....or everyone will be getting a headband from me for their next five birthdays.

Meeting Three - Change in the schedule!!

Meeting Three will be held at Molly's place
Thursday, March 3rd, 2011 7 to 9pm

If you can't make it, no worries!
You can pay for the materials and get them from me to do on your own - this is an easy peasy project.

Here's what we'll be doing:

Turning these....

Into these...

I know so many of you have already made these like a million times, but who could ever have enough?!

$1.00 for the headband
$3.50 for all the buttons, satin, tulle, cotton prints, embellishments and all the other fun stuff you could want.

Total per head band will be $4.50 for the first band.
Each headband after that is $2.50 total per band.
OR feel free to bring your own fabrics and embellishments in colors of your choice.

I can't wait for the talking, eating, crafting and funing.

Hope to see you on Thursday!!

Meeting One Recap!

What a great time we had at our first ever Gypsy Guild meeting. Thank you to everyone who could come and make it a success and to those who couldn't come, we hope you can next time!

 The Treats!

Did we decide to all bring treats or is that just too much? Crafting and eating don't always mix but you gotta have treats, right?! Leave a comment and share your opinion.

One of our pregnant Gypsies (Darcy) brought the pickles, of course.

Puppy Chow! I think I might make this every time. That way I can take home the left overs. (heehee)

The Project!

Bethany is the Gypsy Queen on Tuesday, February 15th.
Stay tuned for her upcoming post to see what she's got up her sleeves for us!

Don't forget to comment with your thoughts on the treats.

(Also, only five of these, too.)

Inauguration Celebration: Meeting One

Meeting One: Tuesday, February 1st, 2011
7 to 9 pm
Gypsy Queen: Molly
We will be making cabochon and button ear rings and hair pins.

You have your choice of either applying cabochons or buttons to make ear rings or buttons.
I have a variety of colors and styles of both, so you're sure to find one that you like.
I have enough supplies to make 24 pairs of ear rings and 44 hair pins.
You can make as many as you like, until supplies run out.

Prices are as follows:

cabochons: $1.00 for two

ear rings (and backs): $0.25 for a pair

 hair pins: $0.25 each

It works out to be $1.25 for a full pair of ear rings or $1.50 for a matching set of hair pins.

This will be our very first meeting, we hope everyone can make it.
Please RSVP in a comment if you can join in the fun!
