Sad news...

Fellow Gypsies,

I'm so sorry to announce that this week's meeting will have to be postponed again. Olen's aunt unexpectedly passed away earlier this week and a viewing for the family has been arranged the same night we planned to get together. So until further notice this week's headband project is cancelled.

I would like to propose that we meet once a month (instead of twice). I think this will accomplish two things (maybe more, but two is alls I got so far): 1) Create a more eager excitement for the once-a-month meeting  and 2) We're all busy women and the last thing we want is for our members to view our meetings as an inconvenience.

What do you all think of this? Leave your comment and speak your mind.

Meeting Three has moved again!

You're not too late to jump in all the fun!
Due to sick babies, birthdays and busy lives we postponed the project for this week to NEXT week.
The new date is: March 10th

Hope it works better....or everyone will be getting a headband from me for their next five birthdays.

Meeting Three - Change in the schedule!!

Meeting Three will be held at Molly's place
Thursday, March 3rd, 2011 7 to 9pm

If you can't make it, no worries!
You can pay for the materials and get them from me to do on your own - this is an easy peasy project.

Here's what we'll be doing:

Turning these....

Into these...

I know so many of you have already made these like a million times, but who could ever have enough?!

$1.00 for the headband
$3.50 for all the buttons, satin, tulle, cotton prints, embellishments and all the other fun stuff you could want.

Total per head band will be $4.50 for the first band.
Each headband after that is $2.50 total per band.
OR feel free to bring your own fabrics and embellishments in colors of your choice.

I can't wait for the talking, eating, crafting and funing.

Hope to see you on Thursday!!

Want to read with me?

Hello to my fellow gypsies!

I started this book last week and I am way enjoying it. It's gotten great reviews so if you are needing something to fill the time between crafts pick this up and we can chat about it during out next craft meeting. I'm listening to it and totally enjoying the southern accents and dynamics of the time.

Meeting Two: Petal Pillows

Date: Tuesday, the 15th of February
Time: 7 to 9 in the evening.
Place: Bethany's House

Project: Petal Pillows!

Seeing as this is a sewing project, you will need to bring a sewing machine and sewing supplies. Also, if you want the pillow fabric to be a specific color/design you will want to bring your own fabric and matching felt.  I will have an assortment of different fabrics and matching felt at the meeting, but i need to know how much fabric i need to have ready. Let me know what you choose to do in the comments!

What to bring:
A Sewing Machine
Sewing Supplies (scissors, thread etc.)
1/2 yard fabric for the pillow (Optional!)
1/2 yard matching felt for the flower (Optional!)
A treat to share!

(I will supply the batting and other needed supplies.)

Costs:
For the entire pillow- $7.00
If you bring your own fabric-$1.00
(see measurements above)

Let me know if you are coming by leaving a comment! And don't forget to let me know if you will be bringing your own fabric or not.

Hope to see you all there!!!

Meeting One Recap!

What a great time we had at our first ever Gypsy Guild meeting. Thank you to everyone who could come and make it a success and to those who couldn't come, we hope you can next time!

 The Treats!

Did we decide to all bring treats or is that just too much? Crafting and eating don't always mix but you gotta have treats, right?! Leave a comment and share your opinion.

One of our pregnant Gypsies (Darcy) brought the pickles, of course.

Puppy Chow! I think I might make this every time. That way I can take home the left overs. (heehee)

The Project!

Bethany is the Gypsy Queen on Tuesday, February 15th.
Stay tuned for her upcoming post to see what she's got up her sleeves for us!

Don't forget to comment with your thoughts on the treats.
