I think it's a little kiddish but it looks cute and fun.
We'll be making decoupage Halloween luminary jars.



What do you need to bring? Jars, how ever many you want to make!

First off...TWO MONTHS IN A ROW!

This month is going to be a simple easy-peasy project

that is super cute and fun!

We'll be making 

Paper Mache Letter Art

(I used gloss Mod Podge on my tester and I don't like it. 

I'll be sure to have the matte stuff when we get together)

Seeing as this project is so easy and took me like 5 minutes to do the one letter, it would be fun to do an entire word! 

(kids names, last name, holiday words, initials of the entire fam...whatev.)
Examples:

(FYI...I love the name Nora)

I am going to Joann's to get more letters. You can bring your own or you can tell me what you want and I can get it for you! 

OR... even better....we could all go together!!!

Let me know.

But if you do get your own, keep in mind, 
Hobby Lobby and Michael's DO NOT have these letters in stock. 
Believe me. I looked. 

I only know that Joann's has them. 


As for paper, Mod Podge and paint, I will have an assortment ready. 
Also, I will have ribbon, fabric for fabric flowers, jewels and buttons 
you can glue on for embellishments.. 
But, if you want a certain look, you might want to bring your own stuff just in case. 

 The "W" I made is 12 inches. But, I think I want to get the 24 inch letters! 
Oh the possibilities!

August's Book & Recap

Sorry, I didn't take any photos cause I get obsessed and in the zone with these type of projects. Plus with the fun chit chat I just didn't even think of it! Here's my finished project. Beth's turned out freakin' cute and looked professional. Star and I kept our Rs bright, random and chunky.

We had Better Than (You know what) Cake, which the consensus was that's it's not. Chris came home and ate the rest and said it's up for debate so I don't know if he's complimenting my cooking or insulting me. (TMI? maybe a little bit?)

The book I choose is The Loser's Guide to Life and Love. Something light, fun and easy to start us off. I should have my copy in the mail today so I can share it with someone. Still waiting to hear back from Mesa Library about their copy.

and here's what we'll be doing

Button Monograms

What you'll need:

- A bag of buttons (or whatever else you want to use to glue it)

- glue gun or crazy awesome glue

- a printed letter to use as a template for gluing

I can also purchase these items for you. I don't have an idea of cost, I'll tell you at the meeting just let me know if you need me to get it for you.

I already have a bunch of black, glassless, photo frames (11x14) from Michael's Craft Store dumpster diving. If you have another frame you want to use then go ahead and show it off.

I'm going to get white poster board to have it cut to fit said photo frames but if you want a different color or are using your own frame then bring your own.

I will also be announcing our first book! {eek!} and I will have a little present too.

Treats will be served. It could be anything from this list.

btw. it's cool if you bring a friend. (and let me know if 7:30 is too late to get started).

Sad news...

Fellow Gypsies, 

I'm so sorry to announce that this week's meeting will have to be postponed again. Olen's aunt unexpectedly passed away earlier this week and a viewing for the family has been arranged the same night we planned to get together. So until further notice this week's headband project is cancelled. 

I would like to propose that we meet once a month (instead of twice). I think this will accomplish two things (maybe more, but two is alls I got so far): 1) Create a more eager excitement for the once-a-month meeting  and 2) We're all busy women and the last thing we want is for our members to view our meetings as an inconvenience.

Meeting Three has moved again!

Due to sick babies, birthdays and busy lives we postponed the project for this week to NEXT week. 

The new date is: March 10th

Hope it works better....or everyone will be getting a headband from me for their next five birthdays.

I know so many of you have already made these like a million times, but who could ever have enough?!

$1.00 for the headband

$3.50 for all the buttons, satin, tulle, cotton prints, embellishments and all the other fun stuff you could want.

Total per head band will be $4.50 for the first band.

Each headband after that is $2.50 total per band.

OR feel free to bring your own fabrics and embellishments in colors of your choice.

I can't wait for the talking, eating, crafting and funing.
